Lately

We had a rainy Thursday, so after an early text from a friend we decided to join them at Hippo Hopp for some indoor play time.  This was Layla's first visit and I think that she had a good time!  Our daughter is definitely not a climber, which is a good thing on most occasions, but here she did need a little extra help here and there!
Snack time with our twin friends: Sydney and Bobby.  We met them at Music Class!

More interested in their snack than hers....

In Motion!

This was her favorite.

After Hippo Hopp and a long nap, we cuddled and watched 101 Dalmations.
Layla's choice of outfit for the afternoon....
Love these quiet moments.  She doesn't stay still for long!

On Saturday, the weather was beautiful so we headed up to the lake to spend the day with Aunt Natalie and Uncle Chris.  Every time Layla gets more comfortable and has more fun!
Daddy trying to get the hair out of her face.

Kind of a smile :)

Splashing daddy from the back of the boat

Sunbathing

Having FUN!

Sitting on her own while the boat is moving!  She is usually in our laps but is being brave!  And, it helps my tan lines:)

Sunday afternoon project.  Lucas says that I'm nesting.  Is that possible if your not pregnant?  I am really just trying to make the most of the space in our house while getting rid of things that should have been gone a long time ago.  And,  perhaps there is a thought of adding another one to this space...somewhere in the back of my head:)

Closet Before

Closet After!  YAY!

She gets a wall all to herself

The playroom before....
And after!  Such a relief that everything has a space behind a door! We still need curtains and a chair for me but it a 100% improvement!

Hope you all have had a enjoyable weekend with your family!  Ours has been fun and productive!

1st Visit to Daddy's "new" office

This picture makes me proud in so many ways!
1. HE is MY husband.
2. My beautiful daughter.
3. My husband's hard work that brought him to this place!

Sometimes things are just meant to be...

I had recently decided that I wanted to get a couple of fitness certifications so that I could began teaching a few classes here and there.  Money wasn't really the issue.  I knew that fitness was going to be a priority in my life from here on out so I thought I could make a little money in the process.  It is also a perfect job so I can still spend the majority of time with my children.  I can teach a class here and there early morning and early evening when Lucas is around so the need for other childcare can be as little or as much as I want it to be.

So I was emailing a friend with questions about certain certifications and she decided to give me the email address to the director  where she is employed which happens to be one of the most exclusive golf clubs of Atlanta, Druid Hills Golf Club.  I emailed the director on Friday and she answered my questions with plans to be in touch in August after I was certified.

Well, yesterday I got an email that she was all of sudden desperate to fill a couple of spots.  When I met with her today she told me that when we emailed Friday, she had no need for me but all of a sudden all of this just opened up.  So, with no instructing experience and no certifications (yet) she let me teach an hour spin class tonight.  I had a awesome time!  There were 3 members there and all of them were sweating pretty good when the hour was up.  Goal accomplished:)

Now I am a "working" mom!  I am teaching the same class next week and will be added to the July schedule where needed.  The director (Brooke) told me that she was just going to just kind of take me under wing and teach me everything she knows.  She has plans in using me in spin as well as instructing some boot camp classes.  I will be working under her certification until I am certified.  The pay is more than what I was expecting.  About $10 an hour above average from the research that I have done.

I was just want to say that God knew the desires of my heart better than I even did!  This is exactly what I was looking for although I really didn't know what I was looking for.  I am so thankful for this opportunity to learn knew things, stay fit, inspire others to stay fit, and set a healthy example for my daughter.

Plus, I made enough money tonight to pay for the pants I bought to teach in:)

End of an Era

Today was Lucas's last day to work from home.  He will be moving his office a little more North Atlanta than what we live.  I know he is excited to be moving away from the house.  It will give him a little more routine schedule knowing that he is getting up and driving into the office everyday.  I have enjoyed having him around but I know that his days will be much more productive out of the house.  Layla thinks it is play time when she sees him throughout the day and it is sure hard to ignore her.  Also working throughout our spell of nap time battles was a difficult time.  Nothing like a client hearing a screaming child in the background.  Also when we eventually add #2, it will make it a loss less stressful on me because I won't have to keep a newborn "quiet" because daddy is upstairs working.  I never left him in charge during nap time although he was home, so mot much will change in mine and Layla's day to day routine.  The biggest difference is now we have TWO empty rooms! That just means more room for guest when they visit. OR maybe it means we need to start making some babies to fill them:)

85% sure...

I don' think that I have shared with my blog followers that my sister, Natalie,  is pregnant!!!  She is due December 26th:)  She had her 12 week check up today and everything looks great.  What a miracle a healthy baby is! I got to see pictures of the tiny baby and it was so cool.

Some of you might not know this but although I refer to Natalie as my sister, she is actually my cousin.  After my mom died when I was at a very young age, I went to live with my aunt and uncle therefore gaining 2 new siblings: Natalie and her older brother Jason.  I share this to say that today at Natalie's appointment she was told that according to the 4D ultrasound, she is expecting a GIRL!  I was selfishly hoping for a girl for Layla's sake, so that she could have a close girl in the family to maybe have a relationship like Nat and I have.  No expectations, no judgement, no stress or pressure.  Always a good time, and there for each other no matter what! Everyone needs at least one relationship like this in their life and it makes me happy that Layla will have a girl cousin in Atlanta to grow up with:) I love how God coordinates all things in our life.  It Makes me smile when I realize how much His hand is on the small details in order to bless us in more ways than we could even have imagined.

Daddy Dress Up!

This is why it is good for every man to have at least one son!

He was such a good sport:)
