I took Layla on Tuesday for her 4 month check up. Crazy how time flies! We got a great report from her pediatrician. She weighed 13 pounds 11 ounces and was 25 inches long. She is in the 50 percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. I knew she seemed long...guess I was right! I had already started Layla in rice cereal so the doctor said to go ahead and throw a few fruits and veggies in there. What we started with was squash and she loved that. I think on the menu for the next 2-3 days is sweet potatoes. Layla has been rolling from her tummy two back since she was about about 3 months but today she hit another big milestone and rolled from her back to her tummy. Before long I am going to be chasing her every where! Makes me thankful that we opted for the carpet instead of hardwood when building our new house. Here is a pic of Layla after she realized that she had rolled to her tummy!
This blog is just what happens in my life with our family of three! I need this because I can't remember what happened yesterday so mainly I do this for me :) But if you choose to follow us I hope that you find a little humor and inspiration!

Short Catch Up!
So for those of you who don't know here is a short story about how we got to Memphis!
After Lucas graduated from college in Dec of 08 he got offered a great job from Otis Elevator Company. This was an answered prayer considering the conditions of the economy at this time. The only condition was that it was in Memphis! We had prayed and prayed about a job opportunity for him and when this came about about decided that it must be God. I have an aunt and uncle who offered their house till we sold ours, so in April we begin living with them. I was about 7 months pregnant at this time so the going back and forth made things a little interesting! Layla was born June 1st in Murfreesboro and then June 7th we were back in Memphis so that Lucas could go back to work! After about 3 months of living with family (huge blessing) we finally sold our Murfreesboro house and moved out to Oakland. It is a small town about 40 minutes from downtown. We love our house and after I get it clean I hope to put some pics on here! 2009 has been a crazy year for us but we could not be more thankful about God's provision for us in the big and small things!

Blog Bandwagon
Well after going back and forth about starting a blog, we finally decided to jump on the bandwagon! With Facebook I didn't really see much need for it, but there are a few family members that would find it easier to view this blog. Why anyone would be interested in what is going on in our life...who knows! But I will keep you updated as best possible so you can keep up with us! I guess the best way to start will be to go back to January 2009 and start there. So check back with some more post soon! Welcome to our blog!!
