Layla has been feeling somewhat better today. She woke up without a fever but still had a little fussiness from the pain of her teeth, I'm sure. The weather today was beautiful. I will take 70 degrees in February any day. We started the day with Stroller Strides at Piedmont, then headed to Lenox to spend her Stride Rite gift certificate, only to find out they don't have one! So then we headed home and Layla took a two hour nap. She still is eating hardly anythig which is not unusual for teething.
Later this evening, all three of us were sitting on the front porch listening to music and Layla took off down the sidewalk. She decided she was going for a walk whether we went with her or not. Lucas said he would go with her and he pretty much let her determine their route.
She walked a half of a mile (without being carried) and was about to pass Natalie and Chris's house when Lucas decided to stop her. When asked if she wanted to see Uncle Chris and Aunt Natalie she said "no". We both decided then that she was trying to get to the park where the playground is but unfortunately it was almost dark. So we then talked her into walking home.
Poor girl was feeling better and wanted to play! I guess a walk to the park tomorrow is a must.
Hope everyone had a beautiful Friday!
This blog is just what happens in my life with our family of three! I need this because I can't remember what happened yesterday so mainly I do this for me :) But if you choose to follow us I hope that you find a little humor and inspiration!

1st Throw Up
Last night, Layla went to sleep at 7pm so I was shocked when I woke up at 9am and realized I hadn't heard a peep from her. I got up and made some coffee and muffins and then she was awake. I went upstairs and she had thrown up some of the french fries that we had for dinner. Then when I picked her up, she obviously was running a fever. Along with this fever, her runny nose is back AGAIN which says to me more teeth! After I gave her some Motrin, we snuggled and watched some Barney and she didn't ask to eat until about an hour after she was awake which is extremely unusual and then she really didn't eat. Once the Motrin set in she seemed to feel pretty good and helped me clean the house. Then in an attempt to get her to eat, we went to Chik Fila for lunch and she hardly touched her food. When we got home she took a 2 hour nap and when she woke, she was burning with a fever again. It was 6 hours later so I gave her more Motrin. We went on a family walk because it was beautiful outside. We stopped by the playground but she didn't even feel like playing so we just kept walking. After about an hour and a half she was starting to perk up. The only thing she would eat out of the fridge for dinner was leftover pizza and she chowed down! She went to bed full and happy, so we will see what the night brings. Every time she cuts more teeth it seems to get more intense. She was so sweet today but so pitiful too. I hope she feels better tomorrow! Please say a little prayer for her :)

What Layla is doing at 19/20 Months!
Can't believe my little girl is growing up so fast right before my eyes! She is now in the months that start with a "2"! Each day with her is a joy. So thankful she is happy and healthy.
Here is what Layla is doing these days:
Wearing size 24 months or 2T
In diapers size 5
Has 8 top teeth and 6 bottom ones
Loves to drink more than she eats but will always eat Chik Fila
Sleeps 13.5 hours at night
Takes 1 nap a day about 1.5 hours
Still sleeps with Minnie and Monkey
Now prefers to watch Barney over Mickey Mouse
She knows all the motions to the songs
Loves to dance and sing!
When we pull in the drive way she says "home"!
Tells me when she baths "No Bubbles"
Says "Eat" when she wants food and can usually tell me what she wants
Loves yogurt, green beans and peas, cookies
Just had her first diaper rash
Will repeat about everything we say
Says please and thank you without being prompted
Knows all the basic animals and noises
Says "Love you" when we tell her we love her
Still a HUGE mommas girl
Is becoming quite the participant in Music Class
Anything that fits over her neck is a necklace, over her wrist is a bracelet, and if it is a tube container it is chapstick
Calls M&Ms "medicine" and I have to agree:)

Montana Trip
It was SO COLD that:
1. When we sat in the hottub our drinks froze and icicles formed on our hair.
2. When you would walk outside the snot on the inside of your nose would freeze!
We had a great get away to Montana. I had no more ski school post because I never skied anymore! We were signed up to go the next day and Lucas and Chris met us at school and told us how cold it was. That was all it took for me and back to the cabin I went! It is funny how your priorities of a vacation change when you have a toddler. I was way more interested in lounging around reading a book all day than I was working hard on the slopes in the freezing cold. So that is pretty much what I did! I read two books while I was there: Nicholas Spark's new one Safe Haven (YES I LOVE N. Sparks:) and then I also read ROOM. I also enjoyed our meals out at night just sitting and talking without having to entertain an almost two year old. BUT at the end of the day, I really missed my little girl. I just kept reminding myself to relax! It was great "adult" time and I will definitely do it again but maybe somewhere warmer!
I have to say that my morning at the spa was awesome!! I could have spent everyday there but the bank account would have not been happy:)
After we landed in Atlanta Friday night, we drove straight to Chattanooga to pick up Layla! I COULD NOT WAIT! Funny thing was when we got there, she really did not want much to do with Lucas or I. She wanted Granna. I thought it was sweet because she never gets quality time with them and I knew in an hour she would go back to being my shadow and sure enough she has. I am so thankful for grandparents that take such good care of Layla. It definitely made our time away easier!
Here are a few pics!

Our drive to Big Sky from the airport

Before dinner.. Natalie had a little altitude sickness :(

We took a snow cat up the mountain to dinner! So FUN!

Hard to see because it was dark but this is what we ate dinner in. It is called a Yurt. The kind of tents Mongolians build. It was so neat and the food was excellent!

My man and I at dinner

Snow coming in over the mountains! I was watching from the hottub! Beautiful!

Breathtaking

Trying to show how deep the snow was....
